Biography

Overview
Jodar is making his debut with Team Europe and has enjoyed one of the fastest rises on the ATP Tour over the past 12 months, climbing from outside the world’s top 600 to a career-high ranking of world No.23. The Spaniard captured his maiden ATP Tour title in Morocco, before enjoying an impressive clay-court campaign, reaching the semifinals in Barcelona and quarterfinals in Madrid, Rome and Roland-Garros.

Off Court
Jodar is nicknamed Rafa and lists as his idol countryman Rafael Nadal. Born in Madrid, Jodar started playing tennis at home aged 4. He considers himself a strong soccer player, and he also likes playing chess. His favourite school subject was Math.

Career
Jodar began the season ranked No.168 and ascended to No.23 after consecutive quarterfinals in Madrid, Rome and Roland-Garros. Away from clay, Jodar qualified for his first Australian Open earlier this year and reached the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami, underlining his ability across all surfaces. Jodar first came to international prominence by winning the 2024 US Open boys’ singles title before continuing his development at the University of Virginia in 2025, where he became Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Rookie of the Year.
