About the Laver Cup Q&A Participants:

Sir Andy Murray
Andy Murray’s connection to the Laver Cup is deeply personal, having joined Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic on Team Europe for the historic 2022 London edition -– one of the sport’s most memorable lineups. The event also served as the stage for Federer’s emotional farewell to professional tennis and a rare reunion of the Big Four.
Murray later described his Friday night match against Alex de Minaur as a career highlight. “It’s surreal, just playing a match with everything that’s going on. Having Bjorn Borg on the side of the court, John McEnroe … Stefan Edberg was in the crowd, all the teams as well – having them supporting you, talking during matches as well, it was incredible,” he said. “One of the most special matches that I’ve played.”
The Glasgow-born former World No.1 remains one of Britain’s most admired sporting figures, a two-time Wimbledon champion, US Open winner and Olympic gold medallist whose insight and intelligence have long made him one of tennis’ most compelling voices.

John McEnroe
John McEnroe’s relationship with the Laver Cup stretches back to its beginnings in Prague in 2017. A former world No. 1 and International Tennis Hall of Famer, he captured seven Grand Slam singles titles, including four at the US Open and three at Wimbledon. He amassed an Open Era record 155 career titles across singles and doubles. John is the only male tennis player in history to simultaneously hold the world No.1 ranking in both singles and doubles.
For seven years, the seven-time Grand Slam champion captained Team World, passionately guiding his players through every match alongside his brother and Vice Captain Patrick McEnroe. His defining moment came at The O2 in 2022, when Team World claimed its first Laver Cup victory – a triumph McEnroe later described as one of the most satisfying achievements of his career. Team World, led by McEnroe, would go on to win a second Laver Cup in Vancouver 2023, and a third last year in San Francisco under new Captain Andre Agassi.

Jim Courier
Jim Courier has been present at every edition and brings yet another perspective. A four-time Grand Slam champion (2x AO and 2x Roland-Garros), former World No.1 and International Tennis Hall of Famer, Courier won 23 career singles titles and spent more than a year at the top of the rankings in the early 1990s, underscoring his stature as one of the great competitors of his generation.
Widely respected for his thoughtful analysis and interviewing style, Courier has become one of the defining broadcast voices of the Laver Cup era, conducting Federer’s final on-court interview in London in 2022 and helping capture one of the sport’s most emotional nights.

Mary Joe Fernandez
A former world No.4 in singles and doubles, Mary Joe Fernandez is an astute tennis analyst and commentator, currently with ESPN. She reached the finals twice at the Australian Open (1990 & 1992) and the Roland-Garros final in 1993. In doubles, she won the Australian Open in 1991 with Patty Fendick and the US Open in 1996 with Lindsay Davenport, plus two Olympic gold medals at Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta in 1996 partnering with Gigi Fernandez. She retired with seven singles titles and 17 doubles crowns.

Patrick McEnroe
Patrick McEnroe has attended every edition of the Laver Cup, serving as Team World Vice Captain from 2017 to 2024. A long-time ESPN broadcaster, McEnroe is also the President of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. During his career, he won one singles title and 16 doubles titles, including the men’s doubles at Roland-Garros alongside Jim Grabb. He achieved a career-high doubles ranking of No.3 and No.28 in singles.

Sam Querrey
Sam Querrey, a former world No.11 and now an emerging tennis TV analyst, was part of Team World at the inaugural Laver Cup in Prague. Known for his massive serve, Querrey captured 10 ATP singles titles across his 17-year-career and retired in 2022 having scored wins over Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal. He is also the co-host of the popular Nothing Major podcast.
