Single-session tickets go on sale Friday, April 28

Danish sensation Holger Rune will make his debut for Team Europe in this year’s Laver Cup, to be held at Rogers Arena in Vancouver from September 22-24, 2023.

The 19-year-old has quickly established himself as a star of the future.

The former World No.1 junior turned pro at just 16 in 2020, broke into the Top 100 for the first time in January last year and by November was in the Top 10.

Last week in Munich, he made a remarkable comeback, saving four championship points to beat Botic van de Zandschulp and capture his fourth ATP title. The week prior, he was a finalist at the first clay-court ATP Masters 1000 event of the season in Monte Carlo, a performance that saw his ranking climb to a career-high No.7.

“Holger has had a really impressive season and is one of the leading players of the next generation,” said Team Europe Captain Bjorn Borg.

“He’s proved he is more than capable of beating the world’s best and I am looking forward to welcoming him to Team Europe in Vancouver.”

Rune will join World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas and World No.6 Andrey Rublev on Borg’s six-man team.

“I’m so honored to be part of Team Europe in Vancouver this year,” said Rune. “I’ve watched Laver Cup over the past few years and love the event. The competition is so intense and getting to really know the personalities of your rivals so unique. It has been a goal of mine to make the team and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Named in honor of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, winner of the calendar-year Grand Slam in 1962 and 1969, the Laver Cup is played on a dramatic black court that will be constructed within Rogers Arena. The three-day competition sees rivals become teammates as six of the top men’s tennis players from Europe face off against six of their counterparts from the rest of the world.

Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe and Nick Kyrgios have so far been named for Team World.

The top three-ranked players for each team earn a guaranteed invitation based on their ATP singles ranking on the Monday after Wimbledon (July 17, 2023). If a top three-ranked player chooses not to participate, the offer will be made to another high-ranked player. The remaining three will be Captains’ picks and named any time before the start of the US Open. With the naming of Tsitsipas, Rublev and Rune before the qualification deadline, Borg is committing to use one or more of his Captain’s picks if needed to guarantee their participation.

Single-session tickets to the Laver Cup go on sale on Friday, April 28 at 10:00AM PDT via Ticketmaster. Single-session tickets will be available for each of the five sessions, starting at CAD$35 for Friday’s day session and CAD$50 for all other sessions (excluding tax & fees).

Multi-session ticket packages, providing the same seat for all five sessions, are currently on sale via Ticketmaster.
