US Open 2025: Laver Cup Form Guide

Cincinnati Open 2025 – Day 7

This year’s final major doubles as a proving ground for the 12 men who will represent Team Europe and Team World at the Laver Cup in San Francisco next month.

The squad spans generations, from 18-year-old João Fonseca making his US Open main draw debut to seasoned campaigners like Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, and Casper Ruud, who have all come within one match of holding aloft the men’s trophy. And of course, the US Open is where Team Europe’s Carlos Alcaraz broke through for his first major in 2022, aged 19, and has since claimed four more Grand Slam singles titles, most recently at Roland Garros.

Here’s a look at how each Laver Cup player is tracking ahead of the US Open and who they will face in the first round.

Team Europe

Carlos Alcaraz
The 2022 champion and current world No.2 arrives in New York in red-hot form, lifting his 22nd career title in Cincinnati. Making his first appearance since Wimbledon, Carlitos withstood a stern challenge from Andrey Rublev in the last eight and outlasted Laver Cup teammate Zverev in the semis and Sinner in the title match, both players managing health issues. With another deep run in New York, the Spaniard can reclaim the No.1 ranking from Sinner.
