Two of the brightest stars in men’s tennis, Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz, are the first players confirmed for the eighth edition of the Laver Cup, to be held at the iconic Chase Center in San Francisco, from September 19-21, 2025.
Alcaraz and Fritz left fans on the edge of their seats during the recent Laver Cup in Berlin, with the Spaniard defeating the American to seal victory for Team Europe in the 12th match of the competition. Next year, they will return to the Laver Cup stage, ready to reignite their rivalry and battle for supremacy.
At just 21 years old, Alcaraz has already solidified his place among the greats of the sport. In 2022 he became the youngest and first teenage world No.1 in PIF ATP Rankings history following his first Grand Slam victory at the US Open. Since then, his meteoric rise has seen him win multiple ATP titles, two Wimbledon titles (2023 and 2024), his first Roland Garros title (2024) and become the youngest silver medalist in men’s singles ever at the Olympics. At this year’s Laver Cup in Berlin, Alcaraz set a Laver Cup record by contributing eight points to his team’s count in a single edition of the event.
Yannick Noah, Team Europe Captain, expressed his excitement about Alcaraz’s participation.
“Carlos is a once-in-a-generation talent. His speed, energy and ability to rise in big moments are unmatched and I’m thrilled to have him with us on Team Europe,” said Noah. “He inspires everyone around him and his presence on the team makes us stronger.”
Alcaraz is also excited to be part of Laver Cup once again. “It was great being part of Team Europe at the Laver Cup in Berlin this year,” said Alcaraz.
“To have all the players I’m used to fighting against together, on the bench supporting me, sharing the same goal – to lift the trophy – is unique. I found it really motivating. I loved the Laver Cup energy, the environment, the atmosphere, and I can’t wait to be part of it again in San Francisco.”
Top-ranked American Fritz has solidified his status as a pivotal force on the tennis circuit in 2024. He captured a bronze medal in doubles at the Paris Olympics and made history by reaching his first Grand Slam final at the US Open. He capped off his impressive season with a runner-up finish at the year-end Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, climbing to a career-high ranking of world No.4.
Fritz has become a cornerstone of Team World, playing in four previous editions of the Laver Cup in Geneva (2019), London (2022), Vancouver (2023) and Berlin. He has a 5-2 record at the Laver Cup and has contributed to Team World’s historic breakthrough title at The O2 in London and their follow-up victory the next year in Vancouver.
“Taylor has been a force for Team World, and his commitment to the Laver Cup is undeniable,” said Team World Captain Andre Agassi. “He loves the team element of the competition and thrives in this unique format. He’s had an incredible season and I’m excited to know he’s ready to lead the charge for us at home in San Francisco next September.”

Next year will mark the first time in over 10 years that a top-level pro men’s tennis event has been played in the Bay Area and the first time Chase Center, home of the seven-time NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, has hosted a tennis event.

A range of Full Tournament Hospitality Packages go on sale at 9:00 AM PST today (December 2) via lavercup.com. Each hospitality package includes the same seat for all five sessions with spectacular views of the court combined with access to one of the Laver Cup’s premium hospitality spaces.
Full Tournament Ticket Packages, including the same seat for all five sessions, will go on sale in February and a variety of Multi-Session Ticket Packages, providing the same seat for two or more sessions, will go on sale in April. Single-Session Tickets, providing a seat for one specific session, will go on sale in May. Tickets will be sold via Ticketmaster, the official ticketing partner of Chase Center.
Named in honor of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, winner of the calendar-year Grand Slam in 1962 and 1969, the Laver Cup pits six of the best men’s tennis players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the world.
The competition, consisting of five sessions over three days, is played on a dramatic black court and rotates between Europe and the rest of the world cities each year. Each player competes in at least one singles match during the first two days, and no more than two during the three-day competition. At least four of the six players must play doubles. Each match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday, and three points on Sunday, with the first team to reach 13 points winning the Laver Cup.
The three highest ranked players from each region, Europe and the World, based on their ATP singles ranking as of the Monday following Roland-Garros, receive an automatic invitation to play the Laver Cup. If one of these players chooses not to participate, the offer is made to another high ranked player. The remaining three places on each team will be ‘Captain’s Picks’ and can be announced any time before the start of the US Open. By naming Alcaraz and Fritz to their teams right now, the Captains Noah and Agassi are committing to use a Captain’s Pick on them if they do not qualify based on ranking.
